Oruã is a boundary-smashing Brazilian collective whose sound fuses psychedelic rock, lo-fi experimentation, Afro-Brazilian rhythms into an electrifying and deeply original whole. Formed in Rio de Janeiro by musician and visual artist Lê Almeida, the band embody a DIY spirit, recording in raw, unconventional spaces and weaving in field recordings and improvisation to create music that feels both urgent and dreamlike.
Their performances channel an unfiltered energy—at once hypnotic, political, and cathartic—drawing listeners into expansive soundscapes that blur the lines between rock, jazz, samba, and experimental noise. Oruã’s inventive approach has earned them a reputation as one of Brazil’s most exciting and unpredictable exports, carrying the torch of musical resistance while carving a path entirely their own.
